What makes Olson's work so compelling is this tension between control and surrender, between the organic and the algorithmic. Her process is methodical, almost scientific -selecting pixels, extruding them into linear fields, building compositions with mathematical precision.
Yet the results feel anything but cold. Whether infused into aluminum, layered between sheets of Plexiglas, or printed on paper, these abstract images seem to emanate their own light, as if the original landscape is still breathing somewhere beneath the surface.
